For more than two decades, DigitalMediaUSA.com has existed on the same piece of digital real estate. The domain was registered in 2003, back when a lot of what we now take for granted on the internet was still being invented.
Now it is taking another step forward.
Welcome to Digital Media USA Signal.
Signal is not designed to be another endless news homepage filled with hundreds of headlines competing for attention. There are already enough websites doing that.
Signal has a different job.
It is designed to answer a much simpler question:
What is moving right now?
That might mean a news story suddenly being picked up by dozens of publishers. It might be an aircraft attracting unusual attention, a severe weather system disrupting transportation, a prediction market rapidly changing, a cybersecurity incident developing, housing inventory shifting, an election market moving, or an event occurring thousands of miles away that could become tomorrow’s major story.
Signal attempts to recognize those movements and put them in one place.
A Dashboard for a Fast-Moving World
The main Signal dashboard combines multiple intelligence categories into a single continuously updating command center.
Among them are aviation, maritime activity, global weather, cyber threats, space activity, economic indicators, real estate, prediction markets, elections and politics, UAP developments, major disruptions and News Velocity.
News Velocity is particularly important.

Looking backward is easy.
Signal is interested in documenting what the world looked like while events were still unfolding.

Digital Media USA Signal will eventually offer sponsorship opportunities for individual intelligence categories.
But there is a line that will not move.
Sponsorship does not influence Signal rankings, source confidence, News Velocity calculations or Digital Media USA editorial decisions.
A company may sponsor Real Estate Signal.
It cannot purchase a better housing statistic.
A cybersecurity company may sponsor Cyber Signal.
It cannot make an unfavorable cyber development disappear.
Advertisers can sponsor the stadium.
They don’t get to change the score.
That distinction will remain part of the Signal system.
