Skywatcher Spots Swarm of Orbs Over Hounsfield: Hoax or Historic?

WATERTOWN, NY — Joel Pilon, longtime local and operator of the acclaimed anomaly-tracking site Skywatch.world, may have stumbled upon something otherworldly this past Sunday, April 20th.
Armed with nothing more than a camera and a nostalgic heart, Pilon ventured out to capture the newly restored Jet Gas sign—a slice of roadside Americana recently returned to its mid-century glory. But instead of just a throwback photo op, what Pilon captured might just throw the whole world for a loop.
In a series of startlingly clear photographs, a swarm of luminous orbs can be seen drifting above the town of Hounsfield, arcing across the sky in formation, and moving due north toward Lake Ontario. The photos have already begun to circulate across regional message boards and UFO communities, with one user calling it “the most compelling visual proof of UAPs since the Tic Tac footage.”
But here’s the twist—is it real?
Skeptics argue the orbs could be reflections, drones, or even birds catching the light just right. Others say it’s “classic lens flare from low-angle sun exposure,” or worse—just “bugs and baloney.” Still, believers in the phenomenon aren’t buying it. To them, it’s yet another case of official silence and media yawns while the skies tell a different story.
Joel Pilon, no stranger to skywatching controversy, stands by his capture.
“I went out to take a photo of a gas sign. Instead, I got fuel for a whole new debate,” Pilon posted on his site, Skywatch.world.
“These weren’t birds. These weren’t planes. These were something else.”
