The Wilder Treatment by Hans Wilder
You know what’s funny? Back in the ’60s, we had these long-haired, tie-dye-wearing, peace-loving hippies protesting the establishment, questioning authority, and advocating for free speech. Fast forward to today, and who do we see challenging the status quo? The MAGA crowd. It’s like the counterculture did a 180 and put on a red hat.
These folks are railing against government overreach, distrusting mainstream media, and demanding their voices be heard. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? It’s as if the spirit of rebellion has swapped wardrobes and political affiliations.
And the so-called liberals? They’re now the ones enforcing conformity, policing language, and cozying up to corporate interests. The party that once championed free expression and individual rights seems to have taken a page from the old conservative playbook.
So, what happened? Did the hippies grow up and trade their protest signs for picket fences? Did the rebels become the establishment? Or is it just the natural cycle of political evolution, where today’s radicals become tomorrow’s conservatives, and vice versa?
In the end, it’s all a grand performance, a never-ending dance of ideologies swapping partners and costumes. But remember, no matter who’s leading the conga line, it’s still the same old song playing in the background.
So, whether you’re waving a peace sign or a campaign banner, just know that the more things change, the more they stay the same. And in the immortal words of a certain long-haired comedian: “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.”
